Ananda means Divine Bliss. The more I practice and share the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda and Swami Kriyananda the more I experience my self as Divine Bliss. You too are essentially Divine bliss. Perhaps you would also appreciate more genuine friendship, peace, love and wisdom in your life. I founded the Ananda York Yoga and Meditation Center in 1998 to provide a sanctuary for souls seeking to experience the Divine Presence. Our Ananda York center is one of many Ananda centers and colonies around the world where the teachings of yoga and meditation as taught by Paramhansa Yogananda and his disciple, Swami Kriyananda are taught and practiced. You are invited to join us in exploring the keys of awakening to your spiritual reality with us at any of our meditations, services, classes or retreats!

I truly love helping at our Ananda Center. It’s a positive and deeply spiritual environment where we all grow and learn together in a community of kindred spirits. I especially enjoy facilitating the Raja Yoga classes. Every lesson is an opportunity for each of us to learn from the highest teachings of Yoga as guided by Swami Kriyananda’s easy to follow, Raja Yoga book. Whether we’re studying the philosophy section of a lesson or practicing Yogananda’s energization exercises and meditation techniques, the feeling is powerfully uplifting. I also feel spiritually transformed each time I have the opportunity to lead chants composed by Yogananda or Kriyananda. These sacred chants are powerful and simple tools which guide us back to our divine essence.
At this point in my life, serving and spending time at our center is essential to my happiness. The teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda and the spiritual community of Ananda are the cornerstones of my life. I look forward to the continued blessings of sharing these life transforming teachings with all truth seeking souls!

After studying many traditions and meditating for some years, I discovered Ananda in Seattle over a decade ago. Deeply touched by the music, teachings, and beautiful souls I met there, I began what has been one of the most amazing and transformational journeys of my life. Since moving to Boston, serving and teaching for the Ananda communities in New England (from New York to Maine) has been a great joy and blessing for me. I am a certified Ananda Yoga® and Meditation teacher, I lead kirtans and play the harmonium, and I also direct our Ananda New England choir and small vocal ensemble.
